The gospel choir here at Marist is not just a choir. We are a family. The current incarnation of the Gospel Choir was developed in 2009 by current director David Burns. Our choir began humbly with only eleven individuals. Since then, through our ministry of music both on and off campus, we have consistently grown. The choir is recognized on campus as a diverse and well-respected group because of what we do and we take pride in knowing our time and talents can help lift the spirits of those who hear us.
Our goal as a choir is to spread the Word of God to all who are in need of it. Our travels have taken us to places outside of New York; we have attended churches in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Vermont, and many others. With laughter and hard work, we have crossed states and performed for many audiences both large and small in hopes that we can provide joy to those who listen. We sing with joy and love in our hearts, and we hope that others will feel our love through song.
This blog is maintained by the students of the Gospel Choir. Here we will be posting about anything and everything the choir is up to; rehearsal schedules, concerts, fundraisers, etc. We hope that you will follow our journey and continue to support our choir.
